The department of Civil and Environmental Engineering (CEE) at Florida International University invites applicants for a tenured/tenure track open-rank (Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor) position in Engineering Risk and Reliability. Qualified senior candidates may be considered for tenured positions.
The Department is seeking highly qualified candidates who focus on the area of Engineering risk and reliability of infrastructure systems to quantify and improve the resilience under various uncertain demands. One of the major areas of interest is civil infrastructure, including – but not limited to – the analysis of engineering risks and reliability of infrastructure systems across multiple scales (from single building or bridge to a community scale), the interconnectivity and interdependency of networked systems, statistical and machine learning methods in engineering risk and reliability analysis, probabilistic loads from extreme stressors on coastal communities under climate variability and change, probabilistic methods for large-scale systems, reliability-based decision-making in design, analysis and improved reconstruction of infrastructure, and systems-based engineering.
