Nurturing and maintaining strong relations with the academic community is a top priority at Google. The Google PhD Fellowship Program was created to recognize outstanding graduate students doing exceptional and innovative research in areas relevant to computer science and related fields. Fellowships support promising PhD candidates of all backgrounds who seek to influence the future of technology. Recent winners have included PhD students in the following fields: chemistry, cognitive science, computer science, computational neuroscience, computing and mathematical sciences, electrical engineering, health sciences and technology, information and media, statistical science, and more. The workshop will discuss strategies for applying for the National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship. This highly competitive fellowship provides three years of fellowship funding to successful applicants.
