TA Opportunity
Environment 166 - Leadership in Water Management
This
course examines water quality and water supply issues, including
interactions between scientific, technological, management, and policy
issues. Invited experts, scholars,
and practitioners discuss relevant issues such as pollution, climate
change, and water infrastructure. Course emphasizes solutions involving
integrated water supply and wastewater systems. Leadership development
occurs through writing instruction and negotiations
and media training.
TA attends
lectures, runs two discussion sections and assist with
grading. TA should be independent and articulate – the discussion
sections will largely be the TAs to design
and run. The TA will be responsible for logistical support and
coordination for a variety of guest speakers and two Saturday field
trips. A major component of the class are the team projects, so project
management experience of other students would be helpful.
Must
have experience in the water quality and/or water supply arena.
Although the focus will be on California and US water issues, experience
in international water issues is
welcome too. Experienced TAs preferred.
TA position is for a 50% appointment and includes fees for Fall quarter.
