Sustainability Innovation Challenge: Graduate Student Mentors Needed

My name is Joyce Thung, and I am a 2nd year MPH Candidate at the Fielding School of Public health. I am working with ASUCLA The Green Initiative Fund (TGIF) and the Graduate Students Association Sustainable Resource Center (SRC) on the Sustainability Innovation Challenge. The goal of this challenge is to provide the opportunity for UCLA students to propose and carry out on-campus sustainability projects through teamwork and collaboration.

Graduate students are needed to provide mentorship to develop on-campus sustainability ideas that have been recently proposed. Ideas range from bike infrastructure, advocacy campaigns, developing a climate-impact app, etc. If you are interested in learning about the proposed ideas and/or are willing to provider mentorship, please submit this form (https://goo.gl/forms/poa57LYLGQUnxdBB3) by Wednesday, April 18th, 8:00pm. Please keep in mind that the expected time commitment for the mentorship to be about 2-3 hours a week between April 16th~May 18th. Most of the work can be done remotely.

The product will be a pitch/proposal in which students will present to a panel of judges during TGIF’s Demo Day during Week 7 of Spring Quarter. One team will be chosen to receive up to $50,000 in funding to implement their project.

Feel free to email me thungjoyce@gmail.com if you have any questions!

Thank you!
