CALL FOR FOCUS GROUP PARTICIPANTS

UNIVERSITY OF CALIFORNIA, LOS ANGELES

GRADUATE STUDENTS WHO ARE FIRST IN THEIR FAMILY TO ATTEND 4-YEAR COLLEGE/UNIVERSITY

Sponsored by UCLA Graduate Division, Graduate Student Resource Center, First To Go
Are you a graduate student who is also a first-generation college student (i.e., a domestic or foreign-born student whose parents/guardians have not received a four-year U.S. bachelor's degree)? If so, please join one of our focus group discussions to help us develop campus resources for first-generation graduate students.
This initiative builds off the recent programs established by the University of California Office of the President (UCOP) and UCLA to assist first-generation students to feel connected to the University and succeed at their studies.
Each 90-minute focus group will have 8–10 graduate students, facilitated by a first-generation faculty or staff member. Lunch or dinner will be served. A special 30-minute information session on seeking extramural funding, designed just for you, will follow the focus group! Total time commitment: 2 hours.
Each focus-group session will be audio recorded. Any information that is obtained in connection with this activity and that can identify you will remain confidential.
