Life & Work at a Community College: Exploring Careers in Academia
Tuesday, April 18th 4-6pm CNSI
4:00-5:00pm Panel Session
5:00-6:00pm Networking Reception
California
Community Colleges recruit faculty and administrative positions across
California from a range of disciplines, this year with
more than 1,0000 positions posted at the California community college
registry.
Join
us for a panel discussion with community college professors from STEM,
Humanities & Social Science fields to learn more about what
it's like to be an academic in a community college. Learn application
strategies and opportunities to gain teaching experience and what they
are looking for in future candidates. The session will then be followed
with smaller group discussions and networking
with the panelists. Refreshments will be served.
Panelists Include:
Dr. Adrienne Foster, Professor, Disabled Students Programs and Services, West Los Angeles College
Beth Au, Director, California Community College Registry
Dr. Keith Ouellette, Professor, Mathematics, Santa Monica College
Dr. Sam Foster, Professor, Chemistry Department, Fullerton College
Co-sponsored by UCLA Career Center and UCLA Graduate Division
