Los Angeles County Sanitation Districts- Fellowship Application for Undergraduates

Hello, the Los Angeles County Sanitation Districts (LACSD) provided $60,000 to aspiring Civil/Environmental Engineers (CEE) that are attending your universities this year, and has provided $550,000 to students through the LACSD Undergraduate Fellowship Program.  The fellowship application for academic year 2017/2018 is now posted.  Please forward the link below to your students that will be undergraduates in 2017/2018.   Because your committees will select students, please ask applicants to direct any questions on the selection process to you or a representative from your committee.  Students can apply through April 28, 2017 at:

Please note that:

  • We will forward submitted applications and transcripts to you or a designated university contact in May.
  • Your committee will determine selection criteria based on our general criteria (see link above) and select students that will receive funding.
  • Each university will provide the names of the selected students to Robyn Beach (rbeach@lacsd.org) by May 26, 2017.
  • LACSD will forward up to $10,000 to your university after receiving the names of selected students.

Please confirm receipt of this email, and note that we have also posted our online application for summer student engineer positions.  We hired 20 CEE students last year and are looking for a similar number of students who want to work full-time in Summer 2017, and possibly part-time during academic year 2017/2018.  No experience is necessary for these paid positions.
