Paid data collection for applied research

Professor Keith Porter from the University of Colorado Boulder is collecting information on around 250 buildings in the Los Angeles area. The work involve doing rapid visual screening based on a FEMA-154, which is a method to quickly observe salient seismic features of a building and determine if the building may pose an unacceptably high collapse risk. There will be a 4 hour in-person briefing and training in Rosemead on Nov 2 or 3.

The work will be paid at $25 per hour plus mileage. If you are interested, please respond with your complete contact information to uclaeeri@gmail.com. Additional questions or carpooling inquiries can be sent to the same email.
This is expected to be a very educational opportunity, both to observe real-life structures and to apply material learnt in class.
