GSR Position
Seeking a graduate student researcher to study the environmental implications of shared mobility
Professors Deepak Rajagopal and Brian Taylor seek a graduate student researcher to work on an interdisciplinary research
project examining the environmental implications of the rise in shared mobility.
If
people begin to shift from owning vehicles and driving them for most
trips, to purchasing individual trips from
companies like Lyft, Uber, and Zipcar, will they increase or decrease
vehicle travel overall? Further, what are the direct and indirect
spillover effects on the environment?
These
are important and understudied questions that we seek to address in
this research. To help us do this, we are
looking for a student interested in working with us on these questions
who, ideally, has a strong foundation in two or more of the following
areas:
· Behavioral economics
· Environmental economics and policy
· Environmental lifecycle assessment
· Travel behavior analysis
· Transportation economics and policy
