Solar Decathlon
Solar Decathlon is a competition hosted by the US Department of Energy, where teams from different schools compete to build a sustainable, net-zero, solar-powered house that is fully functioning and habitable. More information can be found here: http://www.solardecathlon.gov/
We are interested in representing UCLA in the 2019 competition, however, we can't do it alone. We are reaching out to different departments to see if we can recruit more students and faculty to get involved with this project. If you have any experience with sustainable building or if this competition sounds interesting to you we hope you’ll consider joining in some capacity. Faculty can get involved in a number of ways, from being a design team advisor helping with specific engineering aspects of the project to being a general advisor helping us with more managerial issues. All faculty would be able to choose their own time commitments to the project.
Thank you; if you’re interested in getting involved with this project please contact me at paulramstad1@gmail.com.
