ServiceWorks
is a groundbreaking national program designed to empower youth in South
Central Los Angeles to get involved in service and be the change in
their community. We are in need of volunteers to help us facilitate this
transformative process for our high school youth.
ServiceWorks uses Skill Building, Volunteering and Success Coaching to empower 16-24 year olds to be the change in their community by giving them the tools and support to create their own Capstone Project. Through this practice, scholars develop professional and personal skills that prepare them for college and careers.
Volunteers are essential for our youth to learn that they can be the change in their communities. This is because it is our volunteers that embody “being the change” through their own service to our youth
ServiceWorks volunteers have the opportunity to directly engage with our youth in the South Central Los Angeles area through four different avenues: Success Coaches, Skills Trainers, Service Day Volunteers, or Workshop Facilitators. Each role has different responsibilities and offers different levels of engagement to provide a variety of opportunities to help volunteers get the most out of their experience.
