Networking Opportunity - Volunteer for NSF Workshop

Prof. Mekonnen Gebremichael’s group is seeking volunteers to help organize a NSF workshop:

Towards Food, Energy and Water Security in California under Changing Conditions: The Nexus Perspective

Overview of Position: As a volunteer you will be coordinating with UCLA conference services, advertising the event via social media, communicating with attendees, and preparing materials for the workshop. This would be an excellent opportunity for you to get in touch with top-level researchers, government legislators, industrial experts, and NGOs in this field and get involved in this hot topic.

Time Commitment: Starting immediately through mid-December. We anticipate about 2 hours/week during the summer, and slightly more after October. Volunteers are able to work remotely during the summer.

Requirements: Communication skills and experience with social media (esp. Facebook and Twitter). It is preferable if you have some knowledge of the food-water-energy nexus, and/or experience in organizing events. The position is open to both undergraduate and graduate students.

Apply: Send your CV and a short cover letter to Xinyue (Luna) Li at lixinyue@ucla.edu.
